LAMBDA INFO-HUB
19 August 2011
THEORY

Info hub was defined as a space where information is exchanged in a spontaneus manner as a site effect of human interactions. Environmental demands for such an interactions were core problem to be solve in the design.

SIMULATION

Complex informational model containing relation between environmental data ( environmental analysis software and physical observation ), program demands and side tectonic was develope as a base for agent base simulation. Agents moving around the site left traces of their behavior affected by the model. This so called “patch traces” were informative base for the design. INFORMATION MODEL

Further translation of the simulation output were performed to in order to build program finding script. Developed system was searching for right relation between site parameters marked on previuosly generated patch traces and translating them into possible program location.

MATERIALISATION

Series of scripts were developed in in order to achieve button-up approach during the design process. Ussage of waving patterns as an physical representation of initial “patch traces” was the main focus of materialisation. Using such parameters as wave length, amplitude or shift and overlapping patterns onto another different structural and esthetical outcomes were derived.Spatial structure and program of the building refers to the pattern emerged from the simulation. Structural system has been divided into: 1. waving loads bearing steel grid, 2. fillings composed from carbon-fiber 3. light weight roofing system with the ETFE fillings.
